Person - Centered Counselling - Hastings
Welcome
Are you feeling stuck, disconnected or uncertain about the direction of your life? Perhaps you're going through a difficult period, struggling to make sense of your experiences, or feeling that something needs to change. You may be experiencing ongoing anxiety or depression, or trying to come to terms with a significant life event, such as bereavement. I offer person-centred counselling in Hastings and online, providing a calm, supportive space where you can explore what's happening at your own pace, without judgement or pressure
About Me & How I Work
Like many people, my own life has included periods of challenge and uncertainty. Those experiences deepened my appreciation of how powerful it can be to feel genuinely heard and understood. They also shaped my desire to do meaningful work centred on human connection. While your journey will be entirely your own, I bring a deep respect for the courage it takes to face life's difficulties and a belief that growth can emerge through honest exploration and compassionate understanding.
As a person-centred counsellor, I believe that each individual has the capacity for growth and change. My role is not to provide answers or tell you what to do, but to create the conditions where you feel safe enough to explore your experiences openly and honestly. At the heart of my practice is the therapeutic relationship, one built on empathy, acceptance, authenticity, and trust. Clients often describe me as calm, thoughtful, and easy to talk to. I aim to create an environment where you can bring whatever is on your mind without feeling judged or pressured.
My Training & Qualifications
I hold a Foundation Degree in Person-Centred Counselling and am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP). My training has provided me with a grounding in person-centred theory and practice, and I am committed to working in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework.
During my counselling training, I worked with a charity supporting carers, which gave me the opportunity to work alongside people who were often carrying a great deal of responsibility and emotional pressure. This experience showed me the importance of having a space where people can talk openly, feel listened to, and be recognised as individuals beyond the roles and expectations they hold in everyday life. It strengthened my appreciation for the value of genuine human connection and the difference that being truly heard can make.
My Areas Of Interest
Alongside my person-centred approach, I have a particular interest in existential ideas. Many of us, at different points in life, find ourselves asking deeper questions: Who am I? What gives my life meaning? Why do I feel disconnected? How do I live authentically? These questions can arise through loss, change, uncertainty, or simply through living. Existential therapy doesn't seek to provide definitive answers; instead, it offers the opportunity to explore these questions with curiosity and openness, helping you develop a deeper understanding of yourself and your place in the world.
Making Contact
If you're considering counselling, I'm happy to arrange a free initial telephone, online or email consultation. This is an opportunity for us to discuss what has brought you to counselling, what you're hoping for from therapy, and practicalities such as availability.
There is no obligation to proceed, and I encourage you to take your time in finding a counsellor you feel comfortable with. It's important that you feel able to be yourself and that working together feels right for you
